Maria-Eleni Konstantinou is a chemist and currently a PhD student in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Crete, Greece, working on “Development of an effective analytical methodology using spectroscopic techniques for the characterization of organic residues in archaeological finds.” Her master’s thesis, entitled “Detection of organic residues on archaeological findings with surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy,” was conducted in the Department of Materials Science and Technology. She joined IESL–FORTH for her thesis work, focusing on the spectroscopic characterization of inorganic pigments using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy.
